    Neo nectar

Post by Brandy263 on Wed Jan 09, 2013 11:31 am

Hi everyone and welcome to another guide. With the english release of set 5 just a month away i think we should shine the spotlight on the new clan being released Neo nectar.

    Pros:

    -Large amount of superior calls.

    -Power boosts for multiple rearguards.

    -Powerful on hit effects.

-choosing to some extent what to superior call.

-Generally very low on counterblast skills.

    cons:

-Reliance on rearguards and a large field.

-Many skills are on hit only restricting their use.

    Playstyle:

Neo nectar plays very similar to a swarming deck using many superior calls and "growing units" (well get to them later) with early game attacks to literally overgrow and outnumber your opponents and to setup a useful field to gain advantages for late game.

    The gene series:

Probably the skill NN is known for these cards have the unique ability to put themselves back into the deck to superior call and "grow" into another unit.

    Shield seed squire

    G0:5k

AUTO: When another «Neo Nectar» rides this unit, you may call this card to Rear-guard Circle.

AUTO 【R】: [Put this unit on top of your deck] When this unit's attack hits a vanguard, if you have a «Neo Nectar» vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to one card named "Blade Seed Squire", call it to Rear-guard Circle in Rest, and shuffle your deck.

Usually used early game this can force a player to either guard or risk having you gain a potential booster for next turn, not too mention the possibility of gaining a 10k shield later on.

    Blade seed squire

    G1:7k

AUTO 【R】: [Put this unit on top of your deck] When this unit's attack hits a vanguard, if you have a «Neo Nectar» vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to one card named "Knight of Young Leaves, Gene", call it to an empty Rear-guard Circle in Rest, and shuffle your deck.

Same basic premise if they don't block you just gained a 5k intercept or another attack for next turn or with a stand trigger.

    Knight of young leaves gene

    G2:9k

AUTO 【R】: [Put this unit on top of your deck] When this unit's attack hits a vanguard, if you have a «Neo Nectar» vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to one card named "Knight of Harvest, Gene", call it to Rear-guard Circle in Rest, and shuffle your deck.

At first many may think his returning to the deck skill may be a disadvantage but trust me getting a g3 out of the deck is always good as it leaves more space in your deck for a trigger (or maybe if you're lucky a maiden to PB with), and don't worry with the next gene this guys gonna be back before you can say superior call.

    Knight of, harvest gene

    G3:10k

AUTO [R]: [Put this unit on the top of your deck] When this unit's attack hits a vanguard, if you have a «Neo Nectar» vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to two cards named "Knight of Young Leaves, Gene", call them to different Rear-guard Circle in Rest, and shuffle your deck.

This is quite a useful card being able to easily gainan extra 10k defence in intercepts for next turn or to help use sephirots LB.

    Other staples:

Usually in this section i'd describe cards that are generally used in every deck but Neo nectar is so diverse in their decks that it relies entirely on the build that you are playing, but there is one other card that i'd like people to try and splash into their decks

    Fruit basket elf

    G1:6k

[AUTO](RC):[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit boosts a «Neo Nectar» that attacks the vanguard, if you have a «Neo Nectar» vanguard, you can pay the cost. If you do, your opponent cannot normal call units to (GC) until end of that battle. If the boosted unit's attack hits, your opponent receives no damage.

Why use a unit that wont even damage the opponent ? simple there are 2 reasons, 1) you really need to use a skill like explode split tomato, any of the gene series or poison mushroom and 2) maiden of trailing roses persona blast this deck can cause some nasty plays combined with maiden and is amazing for a final turn push.

    The 3 green guardians:

This is the section where NN's (current) main 3 builds and bosses will be shown with some opinions on some good card combinations.

    Maiden of trailing rose

    G3:11k

CONT 【V/R】: If you have a non «Neo Nectar» in your Vanguard Circle or Rear-guard Circle, this unit gets Power -2000.

AUTO 【V】: [Counter Blast (1) & Choose a "Maiden of Trailing Rose" from your hand, and discard it.] When this unit's attack hits the Vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, look at the top five cards of your deck, choose up to two «Neo Nectar» among them, call them to separate Rear-guard Circle, and shuffle your deck.

This unit despite her beautiful exterior can be quite dangerous used with a bit of skill (and luck). Her persona blast apart from possibly giving you another near free attack can also be used to help rearrange you field, also she is the only currently consistent 11k vg in neo nectar.

Crits or Stands?: In my experience i'd have to say stands are a much better choice for a trailing rose deck giving the possibility of 5 attacks in 1 turn if her persona blast is activated correctly.

Useful support: Fruit basket elf, The Gene series, lady of kamerobi and Glass Bead dragon/ Maiden of raibow wood.

Starter?: Shield seed squire or Broccholi musketeer kyla.

    White lily musketeer, Cecilia

    G3:10k

[ACT](VC): Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage): [Counter Blast (1) & Choose five normal units with "Musketeer" in its card name from your drop zone, and put them on the bottom of your deck in any order] Search your deck for up to two cards named "White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia", call them to separate (RC), and shuffle your deck. This ability can only be used once per turn.
[ACT](VC): [Choose one of your rear-guards with "Musketeer" in its card name, and retire it] Look at up to five cards from the top of your deck, search for up to one card with "Musketeer" in its card name from among them, call it to (RC), and shuffle your deck. This ability can only be used once per turn.

I am a huge fan of the musketeer series and this card just fits them perfectly. Putting important cards back into the deck to superior call 2 more attackers is just fun (especially after a vermillion thunderbolt) Her second skill is also useful to rearrange the field and fill the grave easily for her own LB and should generally be used every turn, also just in case some don't know u can superior call Cecillias you just put back into the deck.

Crits or stands?: I would go with crits ,with crits and the musketeers quick field setup it can cause huge damage to your opponent very early on.

Useful support: All of the NN musketeers pretty straightforward.

    Starter?: Brocholli musketeer Kyla

    Arboros dragon, Sephirot

    G3:10k

[CONT](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):All your «Neo Nectar» get "[CONT](VC/RC):During your turn, if you have a unit with the same name as this unit in your (VC) or (RC), this unit gets [Power]+3000".
[CONT](VC):If you have a card named "Arboros Dragon, Timber" in your soul, this unit gets [Power]+1000.

Ok first of all this dragon is AMAZING! it can cause up to at least 19-26k attacks from your rearguards and can also turn your vg attack to at least 21k...and that's before any other sephirots are called...Also sephirot has arguably one of the best ride chains in the entire game easily able to get 3 carrola dragons out onto the field then turning them into 11k boosters with his LB. His only downside is his inconsistency, like all ride chains sephirot needs to pull off his chain for his LB to run smoothly or else getting the cards u need turns into a game of poker.

Crits or Stands?: honestly sephirot is great with either.

Usefull support: The gene series, Glass bred dragon/ Maiden of rainbow wood, Valkyrie Laurel and The turtle that supports the world.

    Closing statements:

Honestly after testing these decks for the guide i am honestly bewildered, i mean just look at the pros compared to the cons they have more reliable superior calls than GP, they can rival the amount of SB attacks, they have more reliable graveyard filling than GB and they can gain rearguard attacks as strong as GN. WHY does nobody use them ?? well maybe after reading this you may just go and try some of NN's flower power:flower:.

Thank you for reading any criticisms/ feedback will be greatly appreciated.
